But here to make it Jain, I am using raw bananas instead of potatoes. Samosa Pinwheels is a slight alternation to the traditional Samosa and is as delicious as the traditional samosas and yet they are quite easy than the samosa as the outer cover making is not hard as samosas. Samosa Pinwheels are a twist on popular snack items, Aloo Bhakarwadi and Samosa. They are a light and crispy appetizer recipe, or in other words, baked puff pastry stuffed with spiced potatoes.
Instructions to make Pinwheel samosa:
- Prepare the dough: In a bowl, add the flour, salt, sugar, crushed cumin seeds and a tsp of oil and mix well. Then add water little by little to form a stiff dough.
- Prepare the stuffing: In a bowl, add the mashed potatoes, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, garam masala and coriander leaves and mix well.
- Spread the dough thin using a rolling pin and place the aloo mixture on the dough and spread it evenly. Roll the dough in a cylindrical way with ur hands and slice it into small balls and then flatten it.
- Sauce: Soak 4-5 kashmiri chillies in water and then cook it. Cool it and place the cooked kashmiri chillied in the blender, add 5-6 garlic pods, 1 tsp sugar, salt, vinegar and tomato ketchup and grind well to form a paste. If it is thick, add the boiled water which was used for cooking the kashmiri chillies.
- In a small bowl, add 2 tbsps of maida and water to form a watery paste. Dip the the flatten dough into this maida paste and fry till golden brown. Pinwheel samosa ready to serve!!!πππ
