The ingredients needed to make Methi Chicken:
  1. Take 500 gm Chicken, cut, clean, washed and drained
  2. Get 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  3. Take 2 medium Onions sliced
  4. Get 2 tomatoes chopped
  5. Take 2-3 cups packed Methi/ Fenugreek leaves – you can add more or less as per your preference
  6. Get 4-5 green chillies slit
  7. Take 1 tsp turmeric powder
  8. Prepare 2-3 tsp red chilli powder (as per your taste)
  9. Get 2 tsp Coriander powder
  10. Make ready 3/4 tsp garam masala
  11. Make ready 5 tbsp oil
  12. Prepare to taste Salt
  13. Prepare 1 sprig curry leaves
Steps to make Methi Chicken:
  1. Clean and wash the chicken thoroughly and drain the water. Wash Methi leaves and keep aside. - Marinate the chicken with ginger-garlic paste and a little salt for half an hour
  2. Heat oil in a pressure pan. Add sliced onions and chillies and fry till the onions turn pink. - Add the marinated chicken and mix well. - Cover and cook for few minutes, stirring occasionally, till the chicken loses it's rawness..
  3. Add Methi leaves, chopped tomatoes, mix and let it cook for few minutes.Add turmeric, chilli powder, dhania powder, salt and ½ cup water. Mix well. Cover and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Let it rest for a while.
  4. Open lid, add curry leaves, garam masala and salt if necessary. - Mix and cover and cook on sim for 5 minutes or till the oil seperates.
  5. Serve hot with Bagara rice / Rotis and Naans
