The ingredients needed to make Spicy mash - vegan:
- Prepare 2 big potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- Get 1-2 tbsp olive oil
- Take 2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
- Prepare 1 shallot, peeled and finely chopped
- Get 1 tsp chilli flakes
- Take Generous pinch salt
Takes no time to prepare, boil and mash potatoes, fry onions and spices and add mash - done! Add spices and some butter - vegan or regular, both would work but I highly recommend not skipping it. Mash and mix with a fork and enjoy! These Spicy Mashed Sweet Potatoes are sweet, savoury, and spicy.
Instructions to make Spicy mash - vegan:
- Boil the potatoes. When they are tender, drain and then mash up with 1 tbsp olive oil and the salt. Add more oil if needed.
- In a pan, heat 1/2 tbsp oil and add the garlic, shallots and chilli flakes. Sauté for about 10 mins.
- Add the garlic/ shallot mix to the potatoes and stir it all together.
- Enjoy as a side or on top of shepherds pie 😋
They are a delicious accompaniment to your favourite protein or just on their own with some toast as a quick lunch. Add potatoes and bring to a boil again. Reduce heat just slightly to avoid boiling over. Simply mash your potatoes, add a little vegan cheese, chopped herbs, a pinch of salt, ground pepper and nutmeg. Mix all the ingredients together, then form to cakes in your desired size.
