Hey everyone, hope you are having an amazing day today. Today, we’re going to prepare a special dish, sambhar vada. One of my favorites. For mine, I’m gonna make it a bit unique. This will be really delicious.
Sambhar vada is one of the most popular of recent trending foods on earth. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes delicious. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. They’re nice and they look wonderful. Sambhar vada is something which I’ve loved my whole life.
Sambar Vadai is one of the most popular evening snack in any restaurants. Sambar Vadai and Rasa Vadai is even served as an appetizer. Crispy but fluffy deep fried Medhu Vada. Sambar vadai is urad dal vadai, soaked in mild and flavourful sambar.
To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook sambhar vada using 26 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Sambhar vada:
- Take For vada
- Prepare 1 cup urad dal
- Get 1 inch ginger
- Take 1 or as per your taste bud green chilli
- Get 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Make ready as required Salt
- Prepare 1 Onion finely chopped.(it is optional)
- Get 1 bunch fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
- Make ready For sambhar
- Get 1 cup tur dal
- Prepare 1 tsp urad dal
- Take 1 onion
- Get 1 tomato
- Get 2-3 pods garlic
- Make ready 1 carrot
- Take 1 small piece of pumpkin
- Get 1 small piece of raddish
- Get Can take ladyfinger and bottle gaurd also. Not in my recipie
- Take 1 pinch Hing
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Prepare 1 cup curry leaves Handful
- Get to taste Jaggery
- Prepare to taste Sambhar powder.I use everest sambhar powder
- Get to taste Tamarind juice
- Get 1-2 dried red chilli
- Get 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds for tempering
Sambar Vada - Crispy medhu vadas soaked in piping hot sambar topped with chopped onions and a drizzle of ghee makes this popular restaurant dish very appetizing. Just before serving warm up sambhar, immerse vadas and let soak for two minutes.
Instructions to make Sambhar vada:
- For vada, soak urad dal overnight. Blend it in morning with ginger and chilli. I have not use water while blending. Add cumin seeds, salt, onion and corriender leaves in it. (I did not add it today).But it enhance the taste for sure. Batter should be thick and can stay in in your fingers. You can use meri vada maker also. But I use my hand. Sorry for not taking pics at that time.Fry it in a hot oil. Yummy vada is ready.
- For sambhar, pressure cook both dal with veggies, turmeric, salt and hing. Add sambhar masala and jaggery just after opening the pressure cooker. Give a nice boil and with the help of beater, you can mix all the veggies in dal. It should not be very thuch like gravy. Can add water to retain the consistency.For tempering the sambhar, add curry leaves and mustard seeds in hot oil with dry red chilli and add it in sambhar. Lastly add tamarind juice according to you taste.
- You can mix them like my pic and enjoy it. It should be served hot. I usually make coconut and groundnut chutney with it. I will share it again. Hope you all like my recipe.
