  2. Get 100 g unsalted butter

Instructions to make Strawberry cake:
  1. Weight and measure all ingredients. Add baking powder and salt to the flour mix well and sift.
  2. Pre heat oven to 180°C. Grease baking tin (8inch). In a bowl beat butter and sugar until light, add eggs one at a time beating well, add strawberry flavour and lemon zest. Add the flour fold it in the batter in 3 batches, add half the milk fold in, add 2nd batch of flour fold well then add all the remaining milk fold well, finally add the remaining flour and fold well to combine. Pour in the baking tin and bake for 30min until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
  3. Remove from oven let cake sit in baking tin on a cooling rack for 10min. Then turn cake on the rack remove tin and cool completely. Cut into two. Spread the strawberry butter cream on to one arrange sliced strawberries drizzle with strawberry sauce.
  4. Place the other half of the cake smooth side up. Crumb coat refrigerate 20min. Finish by coating the second coat. Place your meringue rosettes and sliced strawberries, brush meringues with gold colour.Serve at room temperature.
