  2. Take 1 cup bread crumbs or panko breadcrumbs
  3. Make ready 1 tsp thyme
  4. Get 1 tsp salt
  5. Prepare 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  6. Get 1 large egg
  7. Prepare 1 tsp water
  8. Get 1/4 cup flour
  9. Take 1/3 cup olive oil
  10. Take 1 1/2 cup your favorite spaghetti sauce

  12. Get 6 oz mozzarella cheese thinly sliced

Chicken Parmesan (also called Chicken Parmigiana) is one of the most loved, most popular AND most ordered chicken recipes in the world. BUT often times, chicken comes out too dry, or doesn't have enough flavour or seasoning. Instructions to make Chicken parmigiana:
  1. Trim any fat from chicken and gently pound with a mallet to 1/4 inch thick or buy thin sliced chicken breast.
  2. Combine in a shallow dish breadcrumbs, thyme, salt and ground black pepper.
  3. Whisk together in a shallow bowl egg and water.
  4. Spread flour on a plate, coat chicken with flour and shake off excess, dip in egg mixture, then in breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in 10-12 inch skillet over medium high heat. Add chicken cook 2-3 minutes on each side. Preheat oven to 350°F Fahrenheit and lightly oil a 13×9 inch baking dish.
  6. Spoon 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce in bottom of baking dish, arrange chicken over sauce and sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of parmesan cheese, spread 1 cup of spaghetti sauce over and top with mozzarella cheese and rest of parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover pan with foil and bake till heated through 20-30 minutes, if you wish to brown the top run it under the broiler. Sprinkle with parsley.

Place lid on skillet and reduce heat to low. Allow to simmer until cheese is melted and chicken is thoroughly heated. Place cooked noodles on a plate and cover with sauce. Place chicken breast on top and sprinkle with more. Pound the chicken thin: Place the chicken cutlets one at a time between two layers of plastic wrap or wax paper.
