To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have pongal using 12 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Pongal:
  1. Get 1 cup raw rice (1/2hr soaked)
  2. Get 1/2 cup moong dhall (1/2hr soaked)
  3. Get 1 tbsp pepper corn
  4. Prepare 2 tsp Cumin seeds
  5. Make ready 1 ”Ginger finely chopped
  6. Make ready Green chilli
  7. Make ready 10-12 pcs Cashewnuts
  8. Make ready 4 tbsp Ghee
  9. Prepare leaves Curry
  10. Take Salt
  11. Make ready 1/4 tsp hing
  12. Get 5 cup Water
Steps to make Pongal:
  1. Dry roast the moong dhall and soak it then soak the rice.
  2. In the pressure cooker add 2tbsp ghee,hing,ginger,green chilli,rice,water and salt pressure cook it for 5whistle in a medium flame.Let the pressure release then open the lid and smash the rice.
  3. In another pan add 2tbsp ghee,cashewnuts,pepper corn,hing,cumin seeds&curry leaves.Now mix this to the rice.
  4. The pongal is now ready to serve with sambar,coconut chutney and methu vada.
