- Take 2 tsp salt or as per taste

Katla or Catla fish cooked in orange juice is a heavenly combination. Served typically with hot steamed rice, this is a must try Bengali fish recipe. Heat oil in a kadai or pan. Fry the fish pieces till golden on both sides.
Instructions to make Fish curry in orange juice:
- Clean, wash and then marinate pieces of fish with 1 tsp turmeric powder, salt; keep it for 5-10 minutes.
- For garam masala powder,roast cinnamon, green cardamom and cloves for a while,then cool it and make a powder.
- Heat oil in a pan,till it reaches smoking point.
- Add marinated pieces of fish,fry both sides till colour change, keep it aside.
- In same oil add onion paste,fry it till golden brown.
- Add ginger paste, cook it till oil separated.
- Add tomato puree, cook it again for 5 minutes.
- Add rest turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder,red chilli powder, cook it for 5-6 minutes.
- Add water and allow it to boil for couple of minutes.
- Now add cashew nuts paste, salt and sugar, cover and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add pieces of fish, again cover and cook for 5-6 minutes or till it done.
- In low flame add orange juice, orange zest, slited green chillies, prepared garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves and put off the flame.
- Serve with steamed rice and enjoy.
In the same kadai add ginger paste. Drizzle with orange juice; sprinkle with orange zest. Stir orange juice and ginger into butter; heat through. Melt the butter in frying pan, add the crumbs, garlic and grated orange rind. Stir until crumbs have absorbed all the butter.
