- Prepare 1 cup Semolina (Suji)
- Take 2 Onions finely sliced

- Make ready 3 Cups Water
- Get 1 tablespoon Mustard seeds ( Rai/ Sarso)

- Take 1 Sprig Curry Leaves
- Make ready 1 number Chilies Dry Red ( Optional)
- Prepare 4 tablespoons coriander Finely chopped (dhania)
- Get 1 tablespoon Ghee
Instructions to make Semolina Upma:
- Boil 3 cups of water in a deep pan and keep aside.
- Heat the Ghee in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
- When the seeds crackle, add the split black lentil, Hing, curry leaves, onions,green chilies and ginger and saute on a medium flame till the onions turn translucent.
- Add the chopped carrots and saute on a slow flame for another 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the hot water and salt and bring to a boil and let the vegetables cook in the water for 3-4 minutes before adding the semolina.
- Now, reduce heat and slowly add the Semolina to the water and mix it continuously so that lumps don’t form and it combines well with the water.
- Combine well till it forms a gooey paste.
- Reduce heat and cover with lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Add 1 tablespoon of Ghee on hot upma for nice Aroma
- Garnish the Upma with coriander and Serve immediately.
