- Take Pinch chilli flakes (optional)
- Prepare 1 tsp sugar

- Get 100 g grated mozzarella
- Make ready Chopped parsley
While the sauce simmers, the meatballs can be prepared and baked. In a mixing bowl, combine all meatball ingredients except the mozzarella. Cut the block of mozzarella into small cubes. Wrap each cube with the meat mixture.
Steps to make Mozzarella meatballs:
- Preheat oven to 190c. In a large bowl year the bread into small pieces and add the milk set aside to soak for a few minutes. Combine all the meatball ingredients Except the oil into the bowl with bread and milk and mix well.
- Shape the mixture into balls about a tbsp size of mixture per ball. Add oil to a large pan and brown the meatballs on all sides. Once browned transfer to a large casserole dish.
- In the same pan add the onion and garlic for the sauce and fry until softened. Then add the tomato purée, basil, oregano, cook for a few more minutes then add passata. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes stirring as needed. Add seasoning chilli flakes and sugar.
- Pour sauce over the meatballs and place lid on. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes until meatballs are cooked through. Remove lid and add mozzarella on top of meatballs. Place under grill until cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with chopped parsley. Lovely served with spaghetti
