Instructions to make Atama soup:
- Wash your chicken and ponmo thoroughly and put in a pot, add your seasoning, salt, pepper and diced onions in it and add little water then boil for 15 minutes
- Wash your palm fruits thoroughly and place in a clean pot add appropriate water to it and boil for like 40 minutes
- When the palm fruit is ready, put it in a clean mortal and pound it
- Add water to the pounded palm fruits and extract the juice from it, put it in a clean pot and put it on fire and allow it to boil for like 10 minutes
- After 10 minutes add in your shelled periwinkle, crayfish, pepper, chicken stock, dried fish and allow it to boil for another 15 minutes
- After 15 minutes add in your boiled chicken and ponmo, appropriate seasoning, diced onions and salt and stir it
- Add in your sliced atama leaves and stir it.. Low the heat of the fire a bit then allow it to simmer for about 15 minutes and its ready.. Serve with either fufu, eba, pounded yam, rice etc
